The collard Greens and rice are to die for. The Stewed Chicken is great. Wish I heard some Irie Vibes going when I walked in the place tho

Customer service horrible. Waitress attitude sucked. Her responses were very dry. Never will I go the again. Because of her attitude I decline to order and went to Red Robin instead.

I was planning on getting a menu items but the friendly staff said it was on the buffet. I tried a bit of everything. I have standards and it was all great. The building is not. Incredible price / value for quality.

The 1st time we ate here was OK at best so we tried it again a couple weeks ago and it was downright awful. I try to be open minded because my husband is Jamaican and loves Jamaican food and this is the only place within 100 mile radius, but the food was horrendous and we will never go back!

I got curried goat carry out. First, the portions. Wow. Could have easily fed two people. The jerk sauce on the side was amazing for adding a pop of spice. The curry was excellent. The goat was boneless which was a delightful surprise as well. Love this place

I tried the lunch buffet, and was very happy. Definitely a no frills experience for dining in, as others have said. With that being said, the food is amazing and well worth the price. I'll definitely be back.

I had the jerk chicken and ribs tonight, it was fantastic! If I could give a 12 out of 10 I absolutely would. It hit the spot that has long been empty and I will definitely make David's Jamaican a regular restaurant of mine!!

Best atmosphere, service, and Jamaican food in the Monona area! Owner is from Jamaica, and super friendly. Great spot for a date. I've been to their previous location just a few blocks down. The new place is where a seafood restaurant used to be...about the same size.

I do Davids Jamaican once a week. Clean, delicious food.

the wife of the owner is very rude and she has no customer service skills.The food is good when they want it to be good sometimes the skin on the chicken is just right sometimes its leftover for the night before i havent been back in a while.

We went here for their lunch buffet and it was amazing! Buffett food is often very bland, this food was flavorful and worth it!The banana cake and rum cake were delicious for dessert, but especially the banana cake! I ate the tofu dishes, jerk and mango, and both were excellent. My friend ate the goat and some chicken, and both were amazing.This atmosphere is very calm, relaxed, and peaceful. The staff are extremely kind and friendly. Loved our lunch here!

Very well kept and welcoming restaurant. They serve large meals and for economical prices. We liked the meals a lot and the waiters were very personal and informative. Will definitely recommend this place.

Service was great and friendly. I really wanted this to be great but it wasn't. It was ok at best. The chicken was fall off the bone but it was to soft. I had the chicken and ribs and didn't care for either. Beans, rice and cabbage was good.. Sorry but I give honest reviews and was not blown away by anything. One of Madison's best restaurants - top 5 in terms of taste, cost, and portions. The Jerk Chicken Dinner is amazing and usually enough for two full meals.

Simply great people and good Jamaican foods! We went for their Friday night buffet and we're delighted. It's not a huge selection but a good mix of jerk meats, curry, oxtail, ribs (fall off the bone good), and some miscellaneous other items including the national dish of Jamaica. Red Stripe beer and rum punch makes for a nice Jamaican dinner!

Looks kind of shabby on the outside, but don't let that send you away. The inside is clean and comfortable and the food is incredible. Jerk chicken was spicy, flavorful, and fall-off-the-bone tender. It came with rice and beans, plus some hot sauteed greens that were great. They've got a selection of Jamaican soft drinks, plus Red Stripe beer. Highly recommended.

Wow. Great Jerk Chicken. Full cocktail selection and beer. Everything was very tasty! Service very friendly and fast.

I very thoroughly enjoyed the jerk chicken. It was so light and simple and the chicken was falling off the bone- so tasty. The thing that really made it special was the spicy sauce that came with it. I sadly do not know what it is called but has a rich Smoky flavor too it and it makes the dish very good. I can’t wait to come back and try more!

After being a picky customer I apologized. The gentleman’s response was don’t worry if your happy I’m happy. Great food & service!

Huge portions. Super tasty meats and sides. Eating in is no frills but has the right vibes (I could go to sleep on those bass lines). Would be great for carryout too. Will definitely return!

Can't get enough of davids food! Love having dinner here! The owners are amazing people. Friday night dinner okay is one of my favorites! Jerk chicken it's to die for and so is there mango chicken! And cannot forget that amazing banana cake!! Yummm

First time I visited the lunch buffet. Everything I tried was delicious. My coworker talked me into trying the catfish, WOW never had catfish that didn't taste fishy. I would recommend it.

If you want the true Jamaican experience when it comes to cuisine, check this place out. I recommend the Jerk Chicken or Patties mmmm

I love this place. For years this has been a staple for dates (different person same place), work luncheons, buffet based eating challenges, etc. Dave's been jamaican me crazy for years. Just go.

I love the new place it's about a block down the street from there old location still on monona drive on the same side. Once again like always very good authentic Jamaican food my favorite time to come is during the day for there lunch buffet so you can eat a variety of fantastic jamican cuisine. Jerk pork very flavorful as well as the jerk chicken and rice my favorite is jerk catfish so much flavor. I highly recommend this to anyone interested in real authentic Jamaican food.

Great Jamaican food that is vegetarian and vegan friendly. They have a generous lunch buffet daily as well as one on Friday night. David's also sell their eponymous jerk sauce which is great when you want to spice up ordinary veggie stir fry at home. Their service is laid back and friendly but avoid going if you need prompt attention. Nonetheless I believe they have a more authentic taste and atmosphere so give them a shot!

I hadn't eaten at David's in years. In the past, it was an occasional lunch time stop for my office. This was before the restaurant's move to it's current location. Back then, the food was hot and spicy and the place had the convivial atmosphere many other reviewers talk about here.On my latest visit, there were two cars in the lot, and one occupied table. Always a bad sign. The menu didn't have Ackee on it, just lots of jerk variations. And how can you serve Ox tail soup when there are no customers? There was also no soup available for dinner.Cut to the chase. Food was bland, atmosphere was was really so-so. the hockey game was on in the back, there are a formica-topped tables - it just seemed that atmosphere didn't matter. The only people working were the owners, and service was "basic." We decided never to eat here again.

Truly excellent food. The jerk chicken was falling off the bone and delicious; it was just the right amount of spicy. The sides were excellent. I highly recommend the fried plantains. Really enjoyed the key lime pie as well. Everything came in generous portions.

Service was friendly and the buffet was plentiful and satisfying for only $10.80 including tax. I gave it 4 stars only because the building and furnishings are pretty dated but that also lends itself to a very casual atmosphere for lunch.

Large portions. Wish there was more smoked flavor, but I'm sure we cant get the right kind of woods in the midwest for flavor. Chicken was moist and ginger beer is always great

One of my favorite restaurants. Try the jerk chicken. It's the best I've ever had. The curry goat is excellent too... And you've gotta get fried plantains. It's a must.Some people said they're not friendly. That's never been my experience. They've always been very nice to me. It never fails to brighten my day.
